TERMS & CONDITIONS
All the terms and conditions listed are applicable to all orders placed online by you with Cathleen Jia on our website www.cathleenjia.com.au, www.cathleenjia.com. Including any mobile or App versions for bridal collections, apparel, accessories and other products in the Cathleen Jia ranges.
Acceptance of Order
It is within our absolute discretion to refuse to accept your Order for any reason, or to only sell some, but not all, of the Products you have ordered. We may refuse to sell our Products to a specific country, location, or jurisdiction.
Ordering and Payment
When you place an Order for a Product and pay the Order Price, we agree to provide you with the Product in accordance with the Terms. We will fulfill the order based on your selected style, size, colour. Product will be delivered according to details you have provided. We are not liable for any mistakes made by you on including style, size, colour, delivery details and personal information.
The Order Price is defined as the price payable for the Product as advertised on our Website, inclusive of GST unless otherwise stated, plus postage fees and other additional fees. It does not include any import duties or taxes on the goods, and those must be directly paid by you. We accept payment via our online payment platform which is accessible on our Website. The commencement of making your Product will not begin until the payment of the Order Price is received by us in full.
The Cathleen Jia collections are made and ordered in standard sizes and therefore are not customizable to your individual measurements. You may need to seek external Alteration Services – at your own cost – to modify the Product to your desired fit.
You agree that the Product received will be in the size you have elected at the time of placing your Order. We are able to assist you with taking your measurements over the phone or video chat to ensure you choose the appropriate sizing. However, you are responsible for communicating a reasonably accurate measurement of your bust, waist, torso height, hips, total length in centimeters. If you fit into multiple set size categories, we may recommend ordering the larger size.
Additional Fees will apply if you require Extra length.
Completion of Order
We will aim to have the Product you ordered shipped to the shipping address you have provided within 4 months after the date of your Order unless it is a rush order. If your Order is a rush order, you agree to pay the relevant rush fee at the time of placing your Order.
You acknowledge that the estimated completion dates and shipping dates may be delayed due to factors outside our reasonable control. This may include delays with the chosen shipping company, natural disasters or other events that may impact our business operation (Force Majeure Event). It is your responsibility to consider such delays when placing your Order.
We offer free standard shipping to all orders over $300 in one transaction. We are not responsible for lost or damage once the parcel has left our care. It is in your discretion to include insurance to your shipping, and costs must be paid by you.
Counties of Exclusion
We do not ship to the below countries.

- Palestinian Territories
- South Sudan
- Africa continent
We reserve the rights to refuse transaction to countries not listed above any time due to changing world events. We will refund your payment due to shipping refusal.
When ordering your Product, you agree to consider any fluctuations that occur between placing your Order and the completion of the Product that may affect your measurements. You will not be entitled to a refund or other compensation if this fluctuation renders you unable to use your Product.
You acknowledge that Alteration Services may not be able to be performed on the Product due to design or fabric restrictions. Reasonable steps will be taken by us to inform you of such at the time of placing of your Order.
Returns, Exchanges or Store credit
Unfortunately, as each garment is made to order, we do not accept returns or exchanges for change of minds. This is in line with our sustainable ethos that we carry throughout our entire production process.
Veils and head scarves (excluding gowns, bridal separates, limited edition hand dyed range and other exclusions outlined below) may be returned for a store credit or exchange given they are in original condition with all packaging and appropriate tags. You must contact us within 7 days of receipt with your intention of return. Products must be posted back at your own cost within 14 days from our approved reply of intention of return. It is within our discretion whether the Product is in perfect and resell-able condition. Once processed, we will provide you with a store credit via email. The store credit must be used within 12 months. For exchange, you will need to alert us of exchange item on your intention of return. Normal production time frame and postage costs applied which will be paid by you.
Refunds or replacements will be accepted for faulty products only after the inspection and approval by Cathleen Jia.
Products that have been customized in any way are not eligible for exchange or refund unless the faulty clause applies. (See Fault Products conditions)
All sale items, customized items and customized jewelry are ineligible for returns or exchanges unless the faulty clause applies. For hygienic purposes, undergarments (including shape wear and underwear) and earrings are not able to be returned or exchanged.
All Sample Sale purchases are final. By purchasing a sample item, you accept the condition of the item as is. Item details and their quality, to the best of our judgement are listed on the sale item page. It is your responsibility to read through the details before committing to the purchase. All other conditions listed on the Terms and Conditions page apply to sample sales.
Faulty Products and the Australian Consumer Law
We warrant that we will provide the Products in accordance with the consumer guarantees in the Australian Consumer Law contained in Schedule 2 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth) which apply to the Products. Nothing in the Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any rights or remedies you have under the Australian Consumer Law or any other applicable law that cannot be excluded, restricted or modified by agreement.
Please note that the colour, trim or fabric of your Product may vary from what is displayed online. We make every effort to display the colours of the product as accurately as possible on the Website. However, as devices vary, we cannot guarantee what you see will be completely accurate.
You agree to thoroughly inspect your Product upon receipt and advise us of any flaws or problems within 7 days of receiving your product. If you believe there are flaws in your Product, please take photographs, and call +61385245267 or email to immediately.
Please note that all faulty returns must be sent back to Cathleen Jia’s location within 14 days once return has been approved by us.
Returned items will be inspected upon arrival. You must try on your piece in a clean environment. Any smells, fake tan, make up, grease etc will void your right to return your item.
If the defect in the Product is minor and capable of remedy, we will correct such defect within a reasonable time and cover the relevant shipping costs to do so. We will remedy the defect (at our option) including, but not limited to, the following ways:
Repairing the Product
Replacing with an identical Product
If the defect is major, it will be dealt with in accordance with the Australian Consumer Law. Such remedies may include providing a refund or replacing the Product, on the condition that you return the defective Product to us at our cost.
Colour and Fabric
We select only high quality materials, however the silks being a natural fiber can have small imperfections due its woven process. The dye lot of all materials can also vary between different rolls, and we cannot guarantee your order will be the exact color and/or consistency as the sample shown. Please note the above discrepancies are very minimal and not considered faults. We try our best to avoid fabric imperfections in our cutting process and the dye lot variations are generally not noticeable to the untrained eye.
We monitor the number of returns and exchanges made by customers. Customers with continued or suspicious returns or exchanges will be identified and may, at our discretion, be refused from placing future Orders.
Limitation of Liability
Under the Australian Consumer Law, we will not be liable for any loss or damage suffered by you as a result from:
Any loss or damage to your Product caused by you or a third party;
Loss or damage caused during freight or in transit
As a result of a Force Majeure Event, your Product not being ready by your wedding date
A Size Fluctuation; or
Your use of the Website
You will be liable for and required to indemnify us against any direct, identifiable and reasonable loss or claim suffered by us (whether based in negligence, tort, statute or in any other way) as a result of any breach of these Terms by you, and the exercise of our rights under these Terms pursuant to such breach.
All intellectual property rights existing in the Product and Website content or through other means belonging to us are and will remain our sole and exclusive property. You must not replicate or copy the design or part of the design of any Product or replicate or copy any Website Content, including but not limited to logos or photos, nor commission or instruct a third party to do so. By placing an Order, you grant us permission to use photographs and videos you take of the Product or of you in the Product that you post online for our self-promotional purposes, unless you otherwise advise us in writing.
Use of Website
You must not:
Reproduce or distribute material on the Website;
Retransmit material on the Website via any communication medium;
Commit or encourage a criminal offence;
Transmit or distribute a virus, trojan, worm or any other material which is malicious, technologically; harmful, in breach of confidence or in any other way offensive;
Hack into Website;
Modify or copy the layout of the Website or computer software or code contained within the Website;
Cause annoyance to other users;
Infringe upon any rights of other persons;
Send unsolicited advertising or promotional material, often known as ‘spam’

This Website is for your personal non-commercial use only. You may not modify, copy, distribute, transmit, display, perform, reproduce, publish, license, commercially exploit, create derivative works from, transfer, data mine or sell any content, software, Products, or services contained within this Website. You may not use this Website, or any of its Content, to further any commercial purpose unrelated to and not beneficial to Cathleen Jia. All content contained within this site is covered by strict copyright and held under trademark. Any unauthorized reproduction of images or designs, or breach of copyright, in whole or in part, will have legal consequences. By accepting this notice you are accepting and are bound to comply with the terms of this legal notice. “Content” is defined as any graphics, logos, photographs, video, audio, or text on this Website. Cathleen Jia seeks to ensure that all information on this Website is complete and accurate. However, we do not guarantee that all Content and functional aspects of the Website is wholly accurate and void of errors. Cathleen Jia does not promise that all aspects on the server are free of viruses or other harmful components. As such, we recommend users to have an up to date version of their chosen virus scanning software installed.

Unlawful, void, or unenforceable clauses shall be severed from these Terms. These Terms will be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Victoria, Australia. The parties submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria, Australia.
